The remainder of the Kent State men’s basketball team’s starting lineup from the 2025-26 season, who did not graduate, has announced its intent to enter the transfer portal with junior guard Jahari Williamson’s announcement on Monday.
Williamson broke the news through 24/7 Sports Network on X.
Appearing in 34 games, Williamson shot 44.5% from three and averaged 10.3 points per game. Throughout the season, the guard grew into a tough defender on top of his great offensive output.
“His toughness level and competitive level have probably had as much growth as anyone this season,” Senderoff said. “Really proud of watching his growth as a player.”
This will be Williamson’s fourth collegiate team, as he previously played for Valparaiso as well as Niagara before Kent.
Before Williamson, six players announced their plans to play elsewhere next season, as well as losing both graduate forward Rob Whaley Jr. and guard Morgan Safford to graduation.
Next season, the Flashes will field an almost entirely different team and will likely hit the portal hard to fill out the rest of their roster.
