Off-season has arrived for the Kent State Men’s basketball team, and redshirt sophomore forward Rayvon Griffith, redshirt freshman forward Deandre Jones and freshman guard Quinn Woidke announced their plans for next season on Tuesday.
Griffith said he intended to enter the transfer portal and play elsewhere next season, per Recruits Zone. This will be Griffith’s third team of his collegiate career, as he played for the Cincinnati Bearcats before transferring to KSU.
The guard averaged 13.8 minutes for the Flashes, scoring four points per game on 42.4% from the floor and 29% from the 3-point line. Griffith was a key aspect of the Flashes’ depth, and stepped up when injuries or foul trouble kept key players out.
As well as Griffith, Jones also shared his intention via Instagram to enter the transfer portal and will spend next season in a different uniform. The 6-foot-11-inch forward played in seven games this past season, averaging 4.3 points in 4.6 minutes per game.
While Jones never saw much playtime because of the Flashes’ big-man depth, he could provide decent minutes to a team lacking height.
On a positive note for coach Rob Senderoff, Woidke told Field Of 68 Network that he will be returning to the Flashes for the 2026-27 season. Seeing a much larger role off the bench than Jones, Woidke was one of KSU’s go-to players when needing a spark as the year progressed.
Averaging nine points in 34 games played, the guard was one of the Flashes’ better shooters. The Lakewood, Ohio, native finished with a field goal percentage of 43.2, and 40.4% for 3-pointers.
Woidke is likely set to take on a larger role next season with the loss of graduate guard Morgan Safford.
With the NCAA Tournament ending soon, more decisions on futures will be made in the coming weeks and will give an idea of what to expect from KSU next season.
