No one hurt in one-car crash
Mary Benedict, 51, of Ravenna, was involved in a one-car crash at about 5 p.m. yesterday on East Main Street between Taco Bell and Circle K.
Benedict said she was turning left onto East Main Street from Wilson Avenue when an eastbound vehicle moved from the right lane to the left without using a turn signal, causing her to swerve and hit the median.
Her car was traveling at about 15 miles per hour when it hit the median, the cement wall separating the east- and westbound lanes, said Kent Police Officer Tim Cole. The car was left standing upright on its rear tires for about 45 minutes before it was towed from the street.
Benedict wasn’t hurt and was able to drive away with minimal damage to her car.
She said the driver who caused her to crash didn’t stop to apologize or see if she was OK.
“I am so mad, I just don’t know what to do,” Benedict said. “(The driver) was just being inconsiderate, that’s all.”
