Kent State gymnastics sophomore Jersey Bingman announced her intent to enter the transfer portal on Tuesday via her Instagram account.
“As much as it hurts to close this chapter, I know in my heart this is the right decision,” said Bingman on her Instagram post. “I’m beyond grateful for the memories, lessons, and the people who have become family to me.”
In 2026 with KSU, Bingman achieved all Mid-American Conference Second Team for vault, as well as an NCAA Lexington Regional appearance. This season, Bingman secured three first-place finishes on the vault exercise. All of Bingman’s career highs also occurred in 2026, with 9.875 in both vault and floor.
This announcement followed the recent news that the Flashes would hire Austyn Fobes as the third head coach in program history after Brice Biggin retired earlier this year.
Before her time with the Flashes, Bingman was on the world-class gymnastics club team and will now look towards joining her second collegiate team.
