With a winter weather storm hitting Portage County hard, a local shelter in Ravenna has taken action to prepare for this storm.
With 10 inches of snow and subzero temperatures, many Kent and Ravenna residents were forced to seek shelter.
Open since 2022, Shepherd’s House, a local shelter in Ravenna, adjusted its hours to serve the community during the extremely cold weather with 24-hour services that will last until Jan. 30th.
The shelter is providing three meals a day, along with snacks, extra clothing and a bag with basic essentials for everyday living. The shelter even has backup plans and extra room in case it exceed capacity. All funded by community donations.
