All nine Kent State students studying in Paris unharmed after explosion
All nine Kent State students studying abroad at the Paris American Academy in Paris, France are accounted for and unharmed after an explosion rocked the university Wednesday, Kent State said in a press release Wednesday afternoon.
According to the press release, the explosion, which injured a reported 24 people, is believed to have been caused by a gas leak. The building affected is in the Latin Quarter on the left bank of the Seine River.
The students arrived June 1 for a summer class that was scheduled to end June 28. Now, due to the explosion, the students will return early and the following session of the class is expected to be delayed.
The Paris American Academy provides fashion design, interior design and fashion merchandising courses to students that are transferable to degrees at Kent State.
