Kent police make arrest in connection to Flash Vapes armed robbery
Kent police have arrested a suspect in connection to an armed robbery at Flash Vapes in Kent that occurred May 28.
The suspect, a 17-year-old male from Brimfield township, was charged with second-degree felony robbery, police said in a news release Tuesday. The suspect was initially held in Summit County on other charges according to the release.
The Kent Police Department, in conjunction with the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department, followed leads and tips in a joint investigation which eventually led to the suspect’s arrest.
This comes ten days after the crime took place at Flash Vapes on Main St in Kent, when Kent State issued a Flash ALERT advising students to shelter in place after the suspect fled the scene on foot towards campus.
The suspect was described as being in his late teens, wearing red undershorts, jeans and a shirt that said “cookies” in white writing. Eyewitnesses to the scene said that the suspect carried a firearm.
