Shelter in place on Kent Campus: armed robbery suspect on the run
A Flash Alert was sent out Saturday evening urging students to shelter in place on Kent State’s Main Campus after an armed robbery at Flash Vapes on Main Street in Kent.
The advisory said that the suspect is a thin male wearing red undershorts, jeans and a black shirt that says “cookies” in white writing.
A witness at the crime scene, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the suspect looked to be in his late teens and was armed with a firearm.
The suspect allegedly fled the scene on foot toward campus.
Around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, the call to shelter in place was lifted “with caution” after police searched buildings on campus. A Flash Alert said police presence continues in occupied residence halls.
Anyone who sees the suspect should dial 911.
