Daughter of East Palestine residents starts GoFundMe for displaced

After a train derailed from its tracks Friday night in East Palestine, many residents were forced to pack up their things in a matter of moments and seek shelter at neighborhood school evacuation sites. The evacuation order for East Palestine residents was officially lifted Wednesday evening. During a press conference, East Palestine Fire Chief Keith Drabick announced it had been determined safe for residents to return home after air monitoring throughout Tuesday night. Lauren Boback, whose mother and stepfather reside in the town, started a GoFundMe to raise funds for those in the community who were affected.
