Monday morning, multiple agencies collaborated to start the investigation into what caused the fire Friday morning.
In downtown Kent, businesses have reopened, but the scene remains marked off by yellow Police tape.
While there are still some safety concerns surrounding the structure of the building after the explosion, the three-alarm fire has now entered the investigation stage.
TV2’s Sydney Brown has the update from Chief Myers from the Kent Fire Department and Hometown Bank officials.

I’m somewhat surprised it didn’t burn down years ago. When I attending Kent (’77) I never liked walking past the building. If I had business in that part of N Water, I’d always park a block away. I’m really thankful no one was hurt. My family has been a part of Kent for 100+ years and it’s another icon, like Isaly’s, that will be missed.
