FIRST: Euro Gyro

EuroGyro wasn’t always EuroGyro, but the quality of food has stayed consistent.

George Istocki’s family is from Macedonia, a small country on the Mediterranean. George’s father established Europe Restaurant and Lounge, which would soon become Europe Gyro Pizza.

Nicknames and slang led to EuroGyro, the recognizable restaurant we know today. The Kent location is located to campus, on South Depeyster Street.

“I’ve been eating here since I was a kid,” said bartender Allie Bielinski. “Our food is just really, really good. It always holds up.”

Bielinski said EuroGyro’s homemade dough is what makes their pizza a delivery staple.

SECOND: Insomnia Cookies

Insomnia Cookies started in a college dorm, and now it’s a college town staple.

That’s true for Kent, where the late-night bakery is sandwiched between restaurants on busy Water Street. The location sells their famous cookies, ice cream, cookie cakes and more. 

Insomnia Cookies is open for delivery until 1 a.m. Sunday to Wednesday and 3 a.m. Thursday to Saturday. Place orders from anywhere and send a gift to someone in Kent, or order from Kent and have it delivered to your door.

THIRD: Belleria

Rounding out the list is another popular Italian spot, known for pizza topped with sauce they make in-house.

Tom Gavozzi opened Belleria in 2008, setting up shop in Acorn Alley off of Depeyster and Erie Street. The restaurant delivers to anywhere within three miles.

“We always make sure orders are correct and hot,” said Brooke Crocker, manager.

Their most popular delivery food is pizza, although their classic Italian entrees – everything from eggplant parmesan to ravioli– are a close runner up.
