Kent State to offer free eating disorder screenings
Kent State will offer free eating disorder screenings for National Eating Disorders Screening Day in the Kent Student Center Ballroom on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Students will have the opportunity to fill out a form and talk to a mental health professional about their screening score.
At least 30 million Americans have suffered from eating disorders and every 62 minutes someone dies from an eating disorder, according to Reel Stories, Real People.
According to Healthline, most eating disorders begin in college, and from 2011 there has been a 7.9 percent increase to 25 percent in men and a 23.4 percent increase to 32.6 percent in women.
