Kent State announced two finalists for the position of vice president of enrollment management Tuesday, Feb. 15.

Rachel Beech, who is currently the associate vice president of enrollment management at California State University, and Sean Broghammer, who serves as Kent State’s interim vice president of enrollment engagement.

The role of the vice president of enrollment engagement “serves as Kent State University’s chief enrollment strategist by being the key advisor to the president and provost on all enrollment issues,” according to the university website.

In an email to Kent State staff and students today, president Todd Diacon announced that the candidates had been selected as finalists during a search committee’s initial national search.

“These individuals were judged by the committee as well aligned with key opportunities and challenges for our next vice president,” Diacon said.

Diacon also said the candidates would make campus visits next week in which they would participate in several interviews as well as a virtual public meeting.

Beech has served as CSU’s associate vice president for two and a half years, and was the school’s assistant vice president of admissions, outreach and transition for the previous three years.

Before that she worked at both Arizona and Arizona State University. Beech received an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s, as well as later doctorate degrees in education from ASU.

Broghammer has been Kent State’s interim vice president of enrollment management since July 2021, and has been with the office for two years.

Prior to his time at KSU, Broghammer was with the University of Northern Colorado for nearly 18 years, where he served in a variety of roles but finally as interim assistant vice president of strategic enrollment.

Broghammer received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and master’s in education from Washington State University. He later received a doctorate in philosophy from Northern Colorado.

Beech and Broghammer will take questions from the public at those meetings on Tuesday Feb. 22 and Wednesday Feb. 23 respectively, both at 11 a.m.
