Ever since her girl-next-door role in the 1999 horror-comedy, Idle Hands, Jessica Alba has managed to have guys wishing they were with her, and girls wishing they were her.

Whether she’s lassoing in a shady nightclub in Sin City or running into walls in her latest film, Good Luck Chuck, Alba maintains high standards while being the center of attention.

“I don’t even think I’m in anybody else’s category but my own,” Alba said. “I started acting when I was just a kid; I’ve been doing this for 14 years now. I really can’t speak for other people. For me, fame is part of the job. I only look at it as that. Maybe that kind of keeps my head straight.”

To this day Alba has never appeared nude on film, and even filed a lawsuit against Playboy (which was later dropped) after the magazine used one of her photos for a 2006 cover. The 26-year-old actress knows she can turn heads without compromising her morals and would rather define her fame, instead of the other way around.

“I mean (fame is) fine, and it’s gratifying and it’s great, but it only fulfills you to a certain point,” she said.

So, does Alba ever feel obligated to please certain people in the industry?

“You know, at the end of the day, you come into this world alone, and you leave alone, and the only people that are really going to be around forever are your family, and your friends that you choose to have as family. Everything else is just crap, right?”
