Softball starts MAC season by taking series from Miami
The Kent State softball team opened its Mid-American Conference season with two wins and one loss against Miami Saturday and yesterday.
The Flashes (9-14, 2-1 MAC) fell to Miami (13-15, 1-2 MAC) in the first game of the weekend, 7-6, but won Saturday’s second
game, 4-3.
Two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning won the game for the Flashes yesterday. With just three hits, the Flashes managed to shut out Miami and came out of the series with a 2-1 MAC record.
Freshman pitcher Keir McEachern earned her second career shutout in Sunday’s win.
The Flashes will host a doubleheader vs. Youngstown State on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
