Best of Kent: Go-To Delivery
First place: Euro Gyro
Across the street from Acorn Alley, Euro Gyro borders the array of business in downtown Kent. Euro Gyro has nine locations across Northeast Ohio, with the Kent location having been opened in 1989.
Euro Gyro’s menu offers a wide variety of options, ranging from specialty pizzas to chicken dinners. Open until 3 a.m. Monday through Wednesday, 3:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, and with a delivery minimum of $10, Euro Gyro helps students satisfy their late night munchies without breaking the bank.
“When I’m gaming until like 2 a.m. with my buddies, Euro Gyro is the best option if I want something more than, you know, just a basic pizza,” said Xavier Navarro, a junior air traffic control major and frequent customer of Euro Gyro.
“It’s a nice little spot. We have like little venues here we do concerts, comedy night, karaoke, et cetera […] ‘We have Wacky Wednesdays,’ which is a $5.99 large one topping pizza. Those days are usually pretty busy,” said Dan Carter, the day manager at Euro Gyro.
Second place: Insomnia Cookies
Since its founding in 2003, Insomnia Cookies has become a staple of late night food delivery in the United States. Insomnia’s Kent location was no exception when it opened on South Water Street, in the bustle of downtown Kent.
Delivering warm cookies and milk, Insomnia Cookies is the epitome of comfort food. Open until 3 a.m. seven days a week, Kent State students have ample opportunity to satisfy their late night sweet tooths with cookies like the Insomnia double chocolate chunk. Insomnia also serves other delectables like ice cream, cakes and sandwich cookies.
Third place: Hungry Howie’s
With more than 550 locations across 20 states, Hungry Howie’s is far from being a small mom-and-pop pizza place. Conveniently located on Main Street, Hungry Howie’s delivers quality pizza seven days a week until 4 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 12 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 2 a.m. on Thursdays.
Hungry Howie’s delicious flavor crusted pizzas are a convenient option for night owl students, who are looking for an inexpensive and tasty late night meal. The daily deals and coupons offered by Hungry Howie’s makes the restaurant a favorite among Kent State students.
