Basketball programs to host dunk contests and Cornhole
Kent men’s and women’s basketball programs will host “Late Night with Kent State Basketball” Friday at 8 p.m. in the M.A.C. Center. A pre-game party will start at 6 p.m. in the Rathskeller.
Everything from dunk contests to Sumo wrestling and Cornhole will highlight the night.
“We’re trying to make it a circus event,” assistant basketball coach Jenna Lehmann said. “There are always things going on. It’s very interactive.”
Students interested in participating in the dunk contest against the men’s team should come early to sign-up, Lehmann said. Sign-ups begin right away.
Announcer Tom Linder will host the event. The dance team, cheerleaders, band and DJ Scrilla are performing throughout the night.
The theme of the event is The Late Show, but it’s really a mixture of all the late-night talk shows, Lehmann said. This will include a spin off of the Jaywalking with Jay Leno vignette.
Interviews with the basketball coaches are also something to look forward to. The men’s and women’s teams will compete against each other in a 3-point contest and will sign autographs after the event.
