Softball opens up season by dropping three straight games
The Kent State softball team continued play Friday at Kentucky.
One day after dropping both games of a doubleheader to the Wildcats, the Flashes posted a 10-3 loss after allowing the Wildcats a 7-0 lead in the first inning.
Senior pitcher Erin Christopher gave up Kentucky’s first seven runs before being replaced by sophomore Brittney Robinson.
Robinson put up seven strikeouts in her five innings and only gave up two earned runs.
Sophomore Jamie Fitzpatrick led the Flashes offensively by knocking in the team’s only runs with a home run in the fourth inning.
The Flashes will be next in action at the South Florida Tournament from Feb. 24-26 in Tampa.
