The Kent State softball team will travel to Tallahassee, Fla. this weekend to compete in the Florida State Invitational.

Other teams competing in the tournament are Nebraska, North Carolina, Connecticut, Western Illinois, Tulsa, Indiana, Bradley, St. John’s, Appalachian State, Troy, Utah, Georgia State, Florida A&M and North Florida.

The Flashes (4-3) are coming off a 8-5 victory against Indiana at the Louisville Slugger Classic, marking their fourth victory in five games. Senior Ashley Ball hit a three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the third in her first appearance at the plate.

Kent State will play its first game in the tournament at 1 p.m. today against Western Illinois.
