Committee narrows provost search to four candidates
The search committee in charge of finding Kent State’s next provost has narrowed its search to four candidates, committee chair James Gaudino said Tuesday afternoon.
Gaudino, who is also dean of the College of Communication and Information, said the four candidates, who have not yet been notified, were chosen Tuesday morning after the short list was reduced from six candidates.
These four candidates are expected to be notified later in the week to schedule on campus interviews.
Once on campus, they will be interviewed by hundreds of people, from administration to graduate and undergraduate students, he said. The search committee must then make its recommendations to President Lefton by Feb. 15.
“Everybody was highly qualified,” Gaudino said. “Some people matched us better. We wanted to give the president a range of choices, but of all high quality people.”
