Provost search committee recommends candidates
After reviewing the feedback from the Kent State community, the provost search committee gave President Lester Lefton its recommendation for three of the four candidates for vice president for academic affairs and provost.
Walter Harris Jr. of Loyola University wasn’t included in the board’s review.
“Harris withdrew his candidacy, so we didn’t review him,” said James Gaudino, dean of the College of Communication and Information.
Because all three candidates were recommended, they aren’t ranked and all are considered equal, Gaudino said.
During meetings for each candidate, the committee issued evaluation forms that attending students and faculty filled out and returned to committee representatives.
The committee then used the data to make its final recommendation.
Lefton said the provost will be chosen in a few weeks.
“I would like to thank the search committee for their outstanding work,” Gaudino said.
