$3,200 worth of equipment stolen from KSU Golf Course

Someone who stole equipment from the Golf Teaching and Learning Center during spring break may be practicing his or her golf swing with a guilty conscience.

The person stole a $3,000 Life’s Good 50-inch plasma screen TV and a $200 Philips 20-inch monitor.

“(The monitor) has got to be used specifically for golf swing analysis,” said Andre Seoldo, director of athletic facilities.

He said there are three garages that open into the driving range at the Kent State University Golf Course. The person broke into one of the garages, which was locked with a chain. That garage doubles as a video-analysis room with a TV and monitor in the storage area.

Kent State insured the Athletic Department for a $100,000 deductible, which will cover more than the cost of the equipment, Seoldo said.

Because the case is still under investigation, Kent State police were unable to comment.
