A private plane that reportedly crashed at the Kent State Airport in Stow Saturday never left the runway.

The Cessna 172’s front wheel retracted before takeoff, causing the nose of the plane to hit the ground, Tom Clapper, Transportation Services general manager, said.

No one was injured. The pilots’ names could not be confirmed.
