Basketball players’ preliminary hearing postponed
Today’s preliminary hearing for two Kent State women’s basketball players has been delayed until Sept. 14.
Sophomore guard Jamilah C. Humes, 19, and junior guard Chytearra T. Kintchen, 20, have been charged with receiving stolen property. According to court documents, the two are accused of receiving a stolen debit card.
Lt. Carl Sweigert, a detective with the Kent State Police Department, said the preliminary hearing has been delayed because the prosecutor did not get enough time to review the police report.
The hearing will now be held at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 14 at the Kent Municipal Court.
