Homecoming dance brings students to their feet

Students dressed in attire that ranged from gowns to grungy jeans at Saturday’s “Flashes are Forever” Homecoming dance at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
The gym in the center was decorated with pictures of Kent State from 1910 to 2007. Students and guests had their pictures taken in front of a blue and gold backdrop.
The Homecoming court kicked off the dance by walking around the gym, and then the dancing commenced. TjohnE Productions provided the video screens and music.
Students and guests also enjoyed an assortment of appetizers, Subway sandwiches and a chocolate fountain.
“We wanted to have a good time,” said Margo Ogloblin, freshman visual communications design major. “But there needs to be more people here.”
Bob Holub, senior communications major and Student Recreation Council president, was proud of the turnout, which exceeded last year’s.
“We wanted to improve on last year’s attendance,” Holub said. “And we did.”
But college Homecoming just wasn’t the same as high school.
“I had more fun in high school,” said Alicia Sheasley, junior integrated math major. “But go Kent!”
