Kent State lecture series presents National Teacher of the Year
National Teacher of the Year award winner Andrea Peterson will present “Learning, Exploring, Interacting, Serving – Connections that Matter” Jan. 22 at 4:30 p.m. in the Kiva as part of the Gerald H. Read Distinguished Lecture series.
Peterson’s overall contributions to the community and dedication to teaching led President George W. Bush to name her Teacher of the Year at a ceremony in April 2007.
Peterson is a music teacher at Monte Cristo Elementary School in Granite Falls, Wash. She earned her bachelor’s degrees in music education and arts music from the University of Washington.
The National Teacher of the Year lecture is co-sponsored by the Center for International and Intercultural Education and the Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association and is open to the public.
