The Music & Speech Building Occupation on April 16, 1969, was a major Kent State Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) demonstration event that resulted in the arrest of four SDS-Kent members as well as suspension of the organization’s charter. This led to a long series of protests both for and against SDS by various KSU constituencies.
