Kent State names interim vice president for administration
Kent State named Robert “Yank” Heisler, special assistant to the president for community and business strategies, as interim vice president for administration when David Creamer leaves in June.
Creamer, the current vice president for administration, accepted a similar position at Miami University last month. He will stay at Kent State until June 1, completing the budget planning process for next year.
President Lester Lefton has said he hopes a national search for a replacement will yield a successor to Creamer quickly, with the person in place by the fall.
Lefton hired Heisler in September to act as an adviser to him and to improve ties between the university and the business community in Northeast Ohio. Heisler is a retired chairman of KeyBank National Association and a former chair of the Kent State University Foundation board of directors.
