Wick Poetry will feature former poet laureate
Irene McKinney will be the featured author at the Wick Poetry Center’s second reading of the semester tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in Room 306 of the Student Center.
McKinney, who was appointed poet laureate of West Virginia in 1994, has written four books of poetry, including her most recent title, “Vivid Companion.”
Her poems have been featured in journals such as American Voice, Arts & Letters and Kenyon Review.
McKinney is the editor of Backcountry: Contemporary Writing in West Virginia and teaches at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
The reading will be followed by a reception and book signing in Room 306 of the Student Center.
