Economist to speak on global poverty, pending recession

Economist Brad Schiller will discuss concerns of an economic downturn today at 3:45 p.m. in Room 133 Bowman Hall. Schiller, an American University professor who has written for the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, will also address the economic aspects of global poverty and policy implications.

“Understanding the dynamics of a modern economy is a never ending, yet rewarding pursuit,” said Patrick McKenna, president of the Kent State Economics Club. “I cannot wait for Dr. Schiller’s insight.”

Schiller has written three economic text books: “The Economy Today,” “Essentials of Economics” and “The Economics of Poverty and Discrimination.”
