Ford to be named new men’s basketball coach
The Kent State athletic department is expected to name Geno Ford, a current assistant, as the new men’s basketball coach at a press conference tomorrow at 11 a.m., according to The Associated Press.
The AP reported the story late this afternoon, citing an anonymous source “with knowledge of the negotiations.”
Kent State Director of Athletics Laing Kennedy would not comment about the coaching vacancy.
Ford was the top assistant of former coach Jim Christian during the 2007-08 season and has coached previously at Shawnee State and Muskingum College.
Christian left Kent State over the weekend to become coach at Texas Christian University.
