Trustees to approve contract

Kent State’s tenured and tenure-track faculty members will find out today if they have a contract with the university for the next three years.

The Kent State Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. to approve the agreement reached Aug. 1 between the administration and the American Association of University Professors. The board will meet in the George Urban Board of Trustees Conference Room, located on the second floor of the library.

According to a university memo, the board may enter into executive session during the meeting to discuss specifics of the contract.

Also on the agenda is the establishment of a Bachelor of Applied Career Studies degree program which would allow students who already have accumulated credit hours to complete a degree.
