Field hockey snaps losing streak with 3-0 win
The Kent State field hockey team ended its two-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over Vermont yesterday.
The Flashes (5-3) scored twice before halftime and kept that momentum through the second half for the win.
Junior forward Natalie Barrett scored the eventual game-winning goal on a deflection of senior back Stephanie Bernthal’s initial shot. A little over three minutes later, sophomore midfielder Rachel Miller scored off of a corner.
Freshman forward Debbie Bell continued her outstanding start by scoring her fourth goal of the season in the second half. The goal ended the scoring for the Flashes.
Kent State’s next game is on Sunday, when the Flashes take on No. 20 Albany.
