Anti-racist group to rally, play Twister
The Kent Anti-Racist Action organization will march and rally against police brutality tonight, concluding with a giant Twister game to signify taking back public space.
The march, open to anyone, will begin at 7 p.m. in Risman Plaza and will move downtown to the Home Savings Plaza for a rally before finishing at the Kent City Police station to play Twister, said Lisa Mirkovich, Kent Anti-Racist Action member.
The event, in recognition of the national day of action against police brutality, will focus on police violence and discrimination against minorities.
“I just think students need to be more aware of their rights and the fact that they do have a voice,” Mirkovich said, “and that they should be aware of how to stand up against it.”
