Board of Trustees to hold regular meeting
Lefton to present report, insight on University System
Kent State’s Board of Trustees will meet in a regularly scheduled session at 2:30 p.m. today in the Urban Conference Room on the second floor of the library.
Items seeking board approval include:
– The establishment of a Department of Applied Social and Behavior Research and a Master’s degree in the Applied Social and Behavioral Research major.
– Authority to restructure outstanding variable rate bonds.
– A bus shelter, student parking lot and renovations to the library, all at the Geauga campus.
The board will also vote on the Energy Conservation Master Plan, which lays out how the university will conform to House Bill 251, which requires institutions to improve energy efficiency.
President Lester Lefton said the most important information will come out before the actual board meeting, at the Committee of the Whole meeting.
“I’m doing an hour-and-a-half report during the Committee of the Whole about the University System of Ohio measures,” he said.
That report will begin at 1 p.m. in the Urban Conference Room.
The Audit and Finance and Administration committees and Academic Excellence and Student Success committees will meet at 8:30 a.m.
