Board of Trustees to approve new college

The Board of Trustees will approve the establishment of the College of Public Health at today’s meeting, secretary Charlene Reed said.

Trustees meet five times each academic year. Today’s meeting is from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall, Room 214 in Oscar Ritchie Hall.

Faculty Senate unanimously passed a proposal to establish a college of public health at its November meeting. Kent State will be one of only two schools in Ohio to serve the state in public health.

Trustees are also expected to approve degree recommendations, property purchases and listen to a fundraising and campaign reports, Reed said.
