Goldsmith up for vice provost at Indiana U
Pete Goldsmith is visiting Indiana University today and tomorrow to interview for an open position. The vice president of enrollment management and student affairs may be leaving Kent State for his alma mater.
Why this matters to you:
The vice president of enrollment management and student affairs is the administrator most involved with student issues. Residence Services and Dining Services are housed under him. |
He is running for the vice provost position for student affairs and dean of students at Indiana. He is one of four finalists running and the position will be assigned in late April.
Goldsmith said the final selection will be made after all the candidates have been interviewed and the decision making process is over. If offered the position, he said he would complete the semester at Kent State before leaving.
Goldsmith was selected as a candidate for vice provost after a search committee working with the executive search firm Greenwood/Asher & Associates reviewed resumes and the pool was reduced to a final 12. That group was interviewed before the pool was cut down to four candidates.
“The attraction of IU is that it is my alma mater,” he said. Goldsmith has a doctorate of education in higher education administration and a B.A. in government from Indiana.
“The opportunity to return is something that I wanted to explore, but I would also be very happy to continue at Kent.”
