Field Hockey wins season opener
The Kent State field hockey team opened its regular season today at Murphy-Mellis Field, defeating Saint Louis 7-0.
The Flashes’ scoring started just 2:54 into the game when sophomore forward Debbie Bell connected on an assist from senior forward Laurie Wilkins. Bell led the Flashes with four goals.
The three other goals were from the sticks of Wilkins, junior midfielder Rachel Miller and junior forward Nicole Leach.
The Billikens failed to make a shot attempt the entire game.
The Flashes next host No. 12 James Madison at 1 p.m. Sunday.
