Soccer team shut out by Pitt
The Kent State soccer team lost 1-0 today to Pittsburgh.
The Flashes (1-2) did their best to plug the holes in their defense, but Panthers’ freshman midfielder Ashley Cuba’s pass led to senior forward Ashley Habbel’s one-timer goal, her first of the season.
The ball snuck past Kent State sophomore goalkeeper Kelly Sherwood, but the sophomore once again impressed with her performance.
The Flashes did not generate much offense, recording two shots on goal, but the defense limited the Panthers’ passing game.
After allowing the goal early in the second half, the Flashes upped the tempo in their game, but in the end, it was not enough.
Kent State travels to Youngstown State Sunday for its first road game of the season.
