Flashes’ defense shuts out Coastal Carolina

The Kent State football team defeated Coastal Carolina 18-0 tonight in the season opener at Dix Stadium.

Senior running back Eugene Jarvis led the Flashes in rushing with 141 yards on 27 carries and recorded a touchdown.

Kent State sophomore quarterback Giorgio Morgan went 21-for-35 with two interceptions in the third start of his career.

The Flashes’ defense held the Chanticleers to 185 total yards and recorded two safeties.
