President Lester Lefton will present a map of the university’s priorities to the Board of Trustees at its meeting at 1:30 p.m. today in the George Urban Board of Trustees Conference Room.

Lefton said there won’t be many groundbreaking resolutions made at the meeting, but everything discussed will be very important.

“I think our strategic vision and our strategic map of what we’re doing is very important,” Lefton said. “I will also be presenting some of our final results for last year, and the numbers are pretty extraordinary.”

Lefton said Kent State had record-high enrollment and retention rates for the freshman class, and the board will be very interested in the numbers.

The board is also expected to discuss:

• enrollment trends

• how the University System of Ohio will affect Kent State

• new university initiatives and plans

• growth and potential in study abroad and international programs.

Lefton said there will also be a discussion of the May 4 Visitors Center and the designation of a portion of Kent State’s land for the National Register of Historic Places.
