Bowman Breakfast celebrates student engagement

This morning’s semi-annual Bowman Breakfast celebrated positive aspects of student engagement, including an increase of student involvement in community service of more than 40 percent from 2007 to 2008.

Keynote speaker Greg Jarvie, dean of students and interim vice president of enrollment management and student affairs, said student engagement begins before students even attend Kent State and continues throughout their college career.

He highlighted different dimensions of student engagement, which range from the classroom to student leadership to community service. And the university tries its best to get students involved.

“There is something on this campus for everybody,” he said.
