Men’s golf competes among Top 50 teams
The Kent State men’s golf team travels this weekend to the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at The Ridges tournament to play against several top-50 teams.
The flashes will compete in a three-day, 54-hole event on a par-75 course at The Ridges Golf and Country Club in Jonesborough, Tenn.
For the first time this season, the line-up will remain the same for two consecutive tournaments. Juniors Brett Cairns and John Hahn, sophomore Mackenzie Hughes and freshmen Kevin Miller and Nathan Tarter will play for Kent State.
The 12th annual Bank of Tennessee at the Ridges, hosted by East Tennessee, will highlight 10 of the top 50 teams by Golfweek/Sagarin
Ranked No. 23, Kent State will compete against No. 13 Tennessee, No. 8 Oregon State, No. 11 North Carolina State and No. 30 Auburn.
Individually, eight players currently rank in the top-50 including No. 9 Kyle Kopsick of Auburn.
Last season, Hahn was the top performer for Kent State, placing 17th individually.
The Flashes tee off this morning for the first round. The tournament continues through Oct. 18.
