My (Republican) pet peeve list
• Republicans who criticize President Barack Obama for change. Half say there is too much radical change, and the other half claim nothing has changed. You can’t have it both ways.
• Teabaggers who were protesting Bush’s taxes back in April 2009 but blamed them on President Obama. Maybe someone should inform them that their president passed a massive stimulus, too.
• Joe the Plumber, who was worried that lazy underachievers would benefit from his hard-earned tax dollars, despite the fact he still owed $1,200 in back taxes.
• Those who claimed former White House communications director Anita Dunn is a communist for quoting Mao Tse-tung. That does not make her one, especially when John McCain often quoted Mao while running on the Republican ticket. How many times did we have to hear that lame joke, “In the words of Chairman Mao, it’s always darkest before it’s totally black.”
• Those Republicans who are already making excuses for Obama winning in 2012 by blaming ACORN.
• People who think Fox News is real news.
• Dick Cheney for always giving unsolicited advice. With that said, please run again in 2012!
• Republicans who criticize Obama for the poor economy and say he’s at fault because he knew what he was getting into beforehand. Is that supposed to justify your past eight years of poor economic decisions and outrageous spending?
• Failed politicians who go through ACORN’s trash, hoping to find one shred of evidence that supports conspiracy theories involving Obama.
• Right wing bloggers who come up with anti-Obama phrases . . . Obozo, Obummer, Obamination . . . it’s just getting annoying.
• Town Hallers who shout down other people. Whether you agree with them or not, there is no reason to say horrible things to a single mother who cannot afford insurance. How about some dignity?
• Angry “nonpartisan” tea party patriots who say Congress better start listening to them. Too bad there is no collective voice or common goal. Just shouting. Other than a Republican in the White House, what is it that you want?
• Sarah Palin, who has to write smear attacks on her Facebook page because she is not man enough to say them out loud (pun intended, see next).
• Republicans who support Sarah Palin. Remember some odd months ago when Hillary was running for president and the right constantly attacked her as a weak feminist? I guess a woman can do the job now.
• Wing nuts who claim Obama is committing crimes against our Constitution. How about elaborating just a little . . . and then remember that Bush invaded Iraq without approval from Congress.
• Glenn Beck, for constantly playing into stereotypes and fears. Ironically, he is a Mormon. Perhaps he should remember that his people were once discriminated against and feared by the entire population. It was wrong then and is wrong now.
