Robert Frank, senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, is no longer a candidate for president of Florida State University.

According to information posted yesterday on Florida State University’s Web site, FSU’s Presidential Search Advisory Committee selected three candidates for on-campus interviews. The group invited Kevin Bedell, vice provost for research at Boston College; Eric Barron, director of the National Center for Atmospheric Research; and Steven Leath, vice president for research and sponsored programs at the University of North Carolina.

Frank assumed his position at Kent State in March 2007. Previously, he was dean and professor of the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida. He is a board-certified clinical psychologist and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of New Mexico.
