Kent Plaza Cinemas is set to reopen Friday
MovieScoop Kent Plaza Cinemas in Kent is scheduled to open for viewings Friday, June 19.
“We wanted people to come out to the theater and get back to ‘normal life’ or as normal as we can get,” Liz Harper of MovieScoop said.
Only half the amount of tickets will be offered for each movie to allow viewers to maintain a social distance. Seats can be reserved online, and the one dollar online booking fee will be waived to encourage contact-free purchasing.
Harper said the theater will still have its weekly deals such as Mighty Movie Mondays, when tickets for movies that are not 3D are $5. Tuesday has a student deal with ticket and concession stand discounts with a college ID. Wednesday and Thursday is the kids summer series with family friendly movies starting at 10 a.m.
The first kid summer series movie is “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse,” “which is a terrific movie actually,” Harper said. “The graphics are stunning.”
New releases will not be available to theaters until July because studios have been pushing back release dates, Harper said.
MovieScoop chose a movie package that includes the following and will be shown starting June 19. Katie Gancy of MovieScoop listed them:
