From the Franklin Hall News Room for Friday, April 30, I’m Alyssa Newman and here’s what’s happening…
An Akron man is in Summit County jail after trying to sell a stolen laptop back to its owner Thursday. The 19-year-old owner and his friend were out walking when Robert Bumpus, asked if they’d be interested in buying the laptop. The owner thought it looked familiar and after playing along, called the police. Bumpus was charged with felony.
Security checks may take less time than in previous years. BSR’s Emily Inverso has more information.

Representatives from the EU Transport Commission say all carry-on liquid restrictions will be abolished by 2013. Instead, airports will use liquid screening machines. These new security measures are an attempt to streamline the strong restrictions implemented after 9/11.
A ‘70s pop musician is back in the public eye for slightly more illegal reasons. For more on this story, we go back to BSR’s Alyssa Newman.

Richard Finch of KÇ & the Sunshine Band is facing 16 sex charges today at his pretrial hearing. Finch admitted to detectives to having sexual contact with multiple juveniles ranging from ages 13 to 17. KC & the Sunshine Band are known for their 70s hits, “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Get Down Tonight,” and “I’m Your Boogie Man.”
