The last day to register to play intramural broomball is Oct. 1. Registration forms can be picked up at the Kent State Ice Arena or the Ice Arena’s website.

Broomball requires regular shoes or special rubber-soled broomball shoes. Players can bring their own helmets and sticks or rent them from the skate rental counter.

A maximum of 32 teams will play in two different leagues. The Blue League is designed for those who have played for three or more semesters. The Gold League is designed for entry-level teams.

The Gold League plays late nights on Tuesday and Sunday, and the Blue League plays on Wednesday nights.

Each team is guaranteed six regular season games. A single elimination tournament will determine a champion at the end of the season.

Play begins Oct. 5. All games will have referees.
