Committee will meet to discuss new green space
The Citizens Advisory Committee for the East Summit Street Improvement Project will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday to discuss what to do about the area between Lincoln Street and Risman Plaza.
At the previous meeting on Aug. 25, Michael Bruder, director of design and construction for the University Architect, presented Kent State’s plans to add a median and green space on East Summit Street near Risman Plaza. The university hopes the new design will keep pedestrians out of the parking lots and away from the traffic in that area.
Cathy Wilson, account clerk for the city engineering department, said in an e-mail that staff members have talked to the Ohio Department of Transportation and plan to present their findings to the committee.
The East Summit Street Improvement Project is an ongoing project to address traffic and safety concerns on East Summit Street.
This is the eighth time the Citizens Advisory Committee plans to meet.
The meeting will take place at the PARTA office on Summit Road.
