Family and friends of Columbine victim to speak Tuesday
Family and friends of the first victim of the Columbine shootings will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Student Center Ballroom. The event is free to everyone.
The one-hour presentation, called “Rachel’s Challenge” after the victim Rachel Scott, is aimed to help students change the way they treat others. Pan-Hellenic Council is sponsoring the event.
“The speaker touches on school violence, character, values and improving today for a better tomorrow kind of ideas,” said Brittni Cortright, the council’s vice president of membership education. “It has this awesome ‘pay it forward’ message while learning about school violence, bullying and respect issues. I think it is a much more interesting and personal level of education.”
